Friday Favorites #13

I really love the soft colors of this geometric clutch from sirtom.

All of the items from moaningminnie are amazing but this neck warmer is one of my favorites.

Great bohemian feel from these dream catcher earrings from CaprichosaJewelry.

These bobby pins from BitsandBarley are so adorable and have a lovely color theme.

Beautiful simplicity on this print from TriciaMcKellarPhoto -- might have to get this for my kitchen!

Pretty fingerless gloves from lovelycrochet, love the soft petal look.

Happy Friday!  This week has flown by - I can't believe it's already over.  Today I am heading in to the city to do a bit of shopping.  Mike is down in Milwaukee for a few days... attending a school for the Coast Guard.  I might drive down and spend the weekend there with him but I haven't decided yet.  I keep talking myself in and out of it!  We will see.  :)  I hope you all had a great week and have an even better weekend!  xoxo

I love the quiet, serene feeling I get from this mushroom print from machelspencePHOTO.

I completely forgot today was Friday!  I know yesterday I told you I would have a recipe but it'll have to wait until tomorrow, I was too excited to share these favorites with you.  What do you think of them?

Friday Favorites #11

Beautiful aquamarine (my birthstone!) earrings from PoleStar.  Really love the romantic simplicity.

I love the color of this bag from jennyndesign -- so bright and cheerful and perfect for this month.

Beer anyone?  This print from nelou has definitely gotten me in the mood for some rich autumn brews.

This vintage phone from RattyAndCatty reminds me of my childhood .  My babysitter had a phone just like this that she would let us play with, it was one of my favorites.

This print from irenesuchocki has a cold and mystical feeling to it.  It reminds me of the deep silence of winter.

Simple and sweet pins from iluxo -- love the young and whimsical feel.

Happy Friday!  Today is definitely better than yesterday.  I finally finished reformatting my computer this morning (for the second time, gotta love installing Windows on the wrong hard drive) and am working on getting all of my programs installed.  I definitely needed a break though and making this post was a nice retreat, with coffee in hand of course.  It's a cold and dreary day which makes me feel a little bit better about staying inside, keeping warm and getting some work done.

What are you plans for today and the weekend?

Friday Favorites #10

This vintage owl coffee canister from hmmosko is so precious.  I love his eyes!  And he will even hold your scoop.... so cute.

Love the simplicity yet subtle detail on this compass ring from ragtrader.
.
This leather journal from DancingGreyStudio is obviously well made and I am loving the little details on the spine.

This cat bed (from cadeauxdecatherine) is made from a French wine crate and is so beautiful in it's rustic simplicity.

This belt  from CraftieRobot is definitely speaking to my zombie-loving side.
Sweet and precious, this cat brooch from teconlene is beyond adorable.

Happy Friday!  Are you as excited as me that the weekend is here?  I haven't made any plans yet but I'm definitely looking forward to it.  Hope you have a good one!

Friday Favorites #9

I am loving the colors in this Day of the Dead silk scarf from Kteis.

This kitty bowl from KoideStudio is irresistible!

I have always been fascinated by Egyptian art so I immediately fell in love when I saw these etched copper earrings from archaicdesign.

This vintage birdcage from buffalowinter is so classic and romantic.

How adorable are these magnets from redtilestudio?

I love the soft blue and lace detail on this clutch from betsywynn.

Happy Friday!  I hope you are loving these favorites as much as I am.  What is on your agenda for the weekend?  Mike and I will be picking out paint colors and might even start working on this house a bit.  I'm so excited to finally start adding our own touches.  Think citrus colors for the downstairs!  I promise I will share before and after pictures, and probably some during the process.

Remember when I put purple in my hair?  Well I chickened out back then, was too afraid to bleach all of my hair to get a nice vibrant color but now I'm going to just DO IT!  My hair is a bit dark underneath so I knew it would take a few bleachings to get it as bright as I need it.  Last night I started the process and will be doing more on Monday.  Once I get rid of my morning puffy eyes I'll snap some shots.  It's a bit orange right now but we'll get there!

I hope you all have an awesome weekend!

Friday Favorites #7

This brooch pin from myhideaway is perfect for fall and would so gorgeous on a jacket or purse.

Nail polish inspired by Mad Men!  Loving these colors as well.

These soda labels are so awesome.  I found them on Pinterest  first and of course had to find where to buy them.  Easy enough, you can get them through Spirit!

Love the blue of these earrings by metamorph and the worn feel is the perfect fall touch.

Who doesn't love cat magnets?! (from boygirlparty)

Who's excited for Friday?!!  Too bad this day doesn't get me too pumped like most people.  Mike's schedule changes so often that sometimes Monday is our Friday.  Or Wednesday.  :)  But I'm not going to complain.  It's going to be a beautiful day with a high of 64. Ahhh...... Fall is so close!!

I didn't get to go thrifting yesterday but I did get to visit my local bookstore and shop for ingredients for a new-found cookie recipe.  Mike and I started a fire in the evening and had a friend over.  It was a nice cool night full of relaxation and warm coats.  I loved it!  Not sure what we are doing today though, I'm still working on waking up. :P

Hope you guys have a great weekend and be sure to let me know what you think of this week's favorites.

xoxo

Waiting for Autumn

This spooky tree painting (BrittsFineArt) is dark and whimsical.  I love this type of art and even though the style is very Halloween I really think I could leave this on my wall all year long.

This gorgeous leather mask (museevolution) has me thinking about costumes and masquerade balls!

"Lust" perfume from themorbidthemerrier.  I tried a few of their samples a few months back and they were amazing!  It's time to order something a little darker and richer for the fall months.

This autumn photograph (sparksoffire) is a mix of mystery and adventure.  At first it seems magical and innocent but the more I look at it the more I can imagine creatures lurking through the forest...

I'm loving this wrap from onelovescreations.  I'm definitely going to order one to wrap my (soon-to-be!) dreads.  Pssst... they've got an amazing turquoise one as well in their shop.

Love this rustic necklace... the mix of bronze, black and gold colors are amazing.  (organikx)

I can't believe there are 17 days of summer left!  The past few days have been in the low sixties with a really nice breeze. It's already starting to feel like autumn and I'm more than ready to let go of the summer.  Though I love everything summer brings (hello festivals, tanks, fishing, camping...) I am more than pumped for autumn.  It is definitely my favorite season. I love the smells and the colors and everything else the change of season brings.  I'm sure I'm jumping the gun but I had to share a few things that are getting me in the mood for crunchy leaves and love sleeves.

Thanks for the suggestions on new soap scents yesterday!  If you missed it check it out and let me know what fall/winter scents you love.

Bamboo - Behind the Soap

I sat down this morning to write up a blog post and felt a little stumped.  I stared at my computer screen for probably a good ten minutes before giving up and making a pot of coffee.  I sat outside with Yama and finished up the last of Harry Potter 7 and thought a bit more.  Still nothing.  Came inside... showered, dressed... did my hair.  Mike came home from work an hour earlier than usual (WOOO!) and I watched him and one of his fellow Coasties stack up some wood.  Ran to the store for a few things and came back.

Lunch.

Still nothing.

Snapped a few silly pictures of the animals and thought about posting them until I realized this is not an animal blog.  :P  Though I LOVE showing them off to you.... if just didn't feel right for today.

And then it dawned on me - share some soap!  I put a new bar of Bamboo soap in the bathroom this morning, of course *after* my shower.  I can't wait to use it!  I of course test out all of my soaps but I haven't used a full size bar of this yet.  It is a fresh and clean scented soap made with real 100% Aloe Vera. The colorant is an AWESOME shimmer mica.... I just love how it looks when I'm mixing the colors before pouring.

This isn't a single-noted "bamboo" scent.  It has a rainforest feel... jasmine and aloe with a wood-type scent mixed in.  It's fresh and clean and really light -- not overpowering.  It's also pretty gender neutral.  Mike took some to work and all the guys loved it!

I promise in the next few weeks I will have more soap to share with you.  It has been a quiet summer on the business front and I really haven't minded.  It was nice having a laid back summer.  I am so excited to get busy again though.  I might even brainstorm with you all a bit on color combinations and designs!

What are some of your favorite fall and winter scents?  Let me know!  :)

xoxo

P.S. -- If you'd like to see the last "Behind the Soap" post you can find it here! It was awhile ago. :)
